NEW CAREFIRST CDHP PLANS NOW AVAILABLE FOR QUOTING CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield now offers a complete product line of Consumer Directed Health Plans. Two HRA BluePreferred plans (BluePreferred Options 10 and Option 11) are available for online quoting. A total of 10 HSA compatible plans (5 BluePreferred, 1 BlueChoice, 2 BlueChoice OpenAccess and 2 BlueChoice OptOut+ OpenAccess) are also available for immediate quoting. Most of the plans provide coverage for preventive services with no deductible (Please refer to Plan Descriptions for complete details). All of the plans offer very attractive pricing as compared to both the competition and lower deductible alternatives. Please take the time to review the plan details and pricing in order to KEEP OUT THE COMPETITION. TWO TIER QUOTING DISCONTINUED ON BDG WEBSITE Two tier BlueChoice and BluePreferred quotes are no longer available on our website because the two tier family rate is identical to the four tier rate. We strongly recommend that your clients not default renew if they currently are two tiered. Instead, please rerun the proposal with four tiers for employer signature. census information can be retrieved for currently billed groups without having to enter each member separately Renewing groups can be quoted directly without having to input a new census. Just log on to the specific account and click the "New Rate Quote" button. Current census information will automatically be retrieved. INTERNET QUOTES APPROVED FOR CASE SUBMISSION Our internet generated quotes are approved for case submission and may be used in lieu of other CareFirst software. Proposals are only valid for Maryland Self Employed or 2-49 Groups eligible for Small Group Reform rates. The BDG quoting system produces a signature ready benefit proposal that should be printed and submitted with other enrollment requirements. In addition, a signature ready Disclosure Form briefly describing benefits and premiums of the various Maryland Comprehensive Benefit Health plans (Standard Benefit Plans) is printed with every proposal. This signed form should be submitted for every new and renewing group. For non SGR groups, large group (50+), or groups not based in Maryland, please continue to call our office for quotes. In order to take advantage of the BDG Online Quoting System, brokers must be appointed by BDG to market CareFirst products. Quoting is available on our secure website to brokers who have established a USER ID and Password. You will be amazed by the ease of use, ability to view specific plan information online and generate a signature ready proposal in either your office or your client's place of business. ONLINE EMPLOYEE ENROLLMENT Employers may now elect to allow their employees to enroll in company health plans online without requiring signatures. This enhancement complements the employer's capability of completing online enrollment forms requiring signatures. An employer may elect this option by completing the "Online Employee Enrollment Authorization Request" that is found on our website on the Employer Forms list. TEMPORARY ID CARDS NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE Brokers and Employers may now print employee ID cards online. These forms may be printed and used temporarily until permanent cards are received from the carrier. Cards may be printed in batch for the entire group or individually. Cards will be available no later than the day following enrollment in the Benefit Design Group system. Brokers will find the batch print function on the Employer Group Information Screen. Individual ID cards may be printed by selecting the appropriate employee on the Member Information Screen. Employers may print ID cards by selecting the "Print Temporary ID Card(s) On-Line function on the Employer Forms list.
